A New Beginning

I have loved photography for most of my life. One of the greatest gifts I have ever received was an amazing Kodak Disc Camera that my grandparents gave to me when I was about eleven years old.  I loved that camera.  It fit in my pocket, and I could record memories of my life 15 exposures at a time.  It was a great camera.

I set down my cameras when I got to college, and really didn't pick one back up until I was in my 30s.  I rediscovered my love for photography and burned many a roll of film.  For a while, my sister-in-law worked at a minilab, and I remember asking her to develop fifty-something rolls of film from a trip to the Netherlands. That was in 2003.  Her employee discount made the whole thing almost affordable.  I haven't put down my camera since, and it has been a significant number of film and digital cameras that have occupied my hands.

Fast forward to today.

I have been shooting professionally since 2008.  You name it, I've shot it for money.  I love my job.  As the years have gone by, however, I've spent more and more time working for clients, with fewer and fewer of my photos being made exclusively for my personal satisfaction.  This site aims to change that.  I have sworn that every picture that I make from here forward will be something that I do for me.  I may have clients, but I will do everything I can to make the pictures their pictures be a part of my personal artistic fulfillment.

This website, therefore, is a reset of my photography in that vein.  It will reflect my journey toward artistic fulfillment.  In the galleries on this site, I've included photos from my most recent shows and candidates for inclusion in a couple of upcoming exhibitions.  The blog will contain photos of which I am particularly proud.  I plan on pursuing this side of the photography world vigorously.  I can't wait to see where the future takes me!  I hope you will join me for the ride!
